Pipe thread lathe is also known as pipe thread lathe and oil well lathe. It is suitable for processing various oil sleeve parts, pipe joint parts, drill pipe joints and various parts with large diameter and extra long and only one end needs to be processed.
Pipe thread lathe can finish external turning, internal hole and various threads, circular arc, tapered surface and internal and external surface of rotary body.
It is suitable for efficient, high-volume and high-precision machining of extra-long parts such as oil pipes and drill pipe joints.
Pipe thread lathes include CNC pipe thread lathes and conventional pipe thread lathes.
The CNC pipe thread lathe mainly adopts thread threading, and can cut metric, imperial cylindrical and taper pipe threads.
Features of pipe thread lathes
Pipe thread lathes are generally equipped with a large through-hole in the spindle box. After the workpiece passes through the through hole, it is clamped by two chucks located at the two ends of the spindle for rotary movement. There are two ways of tool feeding: one is the same as a normal lathe, with the slide plate and tool holder located in front of the bed driven by a screw. The other is by cutting the external thread cutting head to achieve a flat comb tool on a slide plate in the centre of the bed and moving forward. Some machines for machining long tubes also have workpiece supports such as centre stands, tool holders and rear supports.
Main specifications
The spindle hole diameter of pipe thread lathe is mainly 135mm~500mm, the maximum turning diameter of workpiece on the bed is 630mm~1200mm, and the maximum workpiece length is 750mm~15000mm.
History of pipe thread lathe
With the popularity of CNC system, the pipe thread lathe has been partially controlled digitally. The emergence of CNC pipe thread lathes has played an important role in improving processing efficiency, increasing processing accuracy and reducing the work intensity of workers in the field of machining and manufacturing.
